January 10, 2024 — Institute PI Hod Lipson and students Gabe Guo, Aniv Ray, Judah Goldfeder at Columbia University, in collaboration with researchers at SUNY Buffalo and Tufts University, use AI to demonstrate that intra-person fingerprints are not unique. October 23, 2023 — Montana State University has launched The Technology and Artificial Intelligence Learning Seminar (TAILS), a weekly seminar on signals, dynamics, statistics, and machine learning as a part of the NSF AI Institute in Dynamic Systems and the Rocky Mountain Data Science student organization. October 10, 2023 — Institute postdoctoral scholar, Anastasia Bizyaeva, University of Washington, interviewed on experience in a five-week focus period in the field of Network Dynamics and Control organized by the Excellence Center at Linköping – Lund in Information Technology (ELLIIT). October 9, 2023 — Institute sponsors Autumn School on Scientific Machine Learning and Dynamical Systems with Director Nathan Kutz as co-organizer. This event introduces PhD students, postdocs and early career researchers to the emerging field of Scientific Machine Learning (SciML) in connection with physics applications.

October 6, 2023 — UH Mānoa awarded the NSF Traineeship Award for graduate education in data science. Assistant Professor June Zhang, of the AI Institute, is a co-PI on the UH Mānoa National Science Foundation Research Traineeship team. Read more at UH News.

May 10, 2023 — The research team of PI Aditya Nair and collaborator Floris van Breugel received the Department of Defense DEPSCoR award for their project on Cluster‐based Estimation and Control of Turbulent Aeroelastic Flows. May 1, 2023 — Registration is now open for the Machine Learning for Science & Engineering workshop taking place June 27-28. This workshop brings together members of the AI Institute in Dynamic Systems with the goal of the continued development of teams whose focus is to develop the core mathematical architectures as well as domain applications.
