The Space Needle is one of the most recognized and photographed structures in the world. Built for the 1962 World's Fair, is considered an icon of the city and is an official city landmark. Open year-round, you can opt for a daylight view or capture city lights at night.
 
An easy day trip, approximately 30 minutes northeast from the UW Campus, are Woodinville wineries, restaurants, hotels, breweries, shops, and more.
Visitor can stroll through Amazon's The Spheres indoor gardens on weekends by reservation. The Spheres were designed to connect workspace with nature and included partners such as the University of Washington Biology Department among several others.
If you love to hike and/or spend time outdoors, the Olympic Peninsula has great options not too far from Seattle. From wilderness to beaches to rain forests there is much to explore.
